In 2020, Dr. Walters joined the team at Columbus Ortho, bringing his expertise to broaden the clinic’s services in managing both orthopedic and non-orthopedic pain. Dr. Walters and his clinical team provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages, addressing a variety of conditions such as back pain, neck pain, spine pain, chronic pelvic pain in females, cancer related pain, fibromyalgia, lupus, headaches, migraines, facial pain, chronic joint and arthritic pain, diabetic hand and foot pain, as well as numbness, weakness, and neuropathic pain.
Dr. Walters takes a multidisciplinary approach to pain management, emphasizing the importance of crafting individualized treatment plans with clear objectives for each patient. While medication management is a key component of his approach, he also explores additional treatment options to enhance patient outcomes.
His team offers a range of outpatient treatments, including specialized physical therapy, epidural injections, facet joint injections, nerve root blocks, and radiofrequency ablation. For certain patients, Dr. Walters may recommend a spinal cord stimulator as an advanced option for pain control. Also offers advanced treatment for back pain including via disc and intracept.
A native of Clarksdale, Mississippi, Dr. Walters graduated Cum Laude from Mississippi State University with a degree in Mathematics and a minor in Chemistry. He completed his medical degree at the University of Mississippi – School of Medicine, followed by an Anesthesia Residency and a fellowship in Pain Management at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Anesthesia and holds Subspecialty Certification in Pain Management from the American Board of Anesthesiology. Dr. Walters is also approved by the Mississippi State Board of Medical Licensure to operate a Pain Management Program.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Walters enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children- son and twin daughters. He is an avid hunter and fisherman. Additionally, he is a decorated championship water skier and trained with Australian championship skiers each summer before college, a lesser-known fact about his diverse interests and accomplishments.
