Where is hip pain felt?
Arthritis in the hip joint itself is often felt in the groin or the front of the thigh. Pain on the outside of the hip is more often from bursitis or irritated tendons. Pain in the buttock can come from the lower back. Knowing where it hurts helps us find the cause.
How do I know it's time for a hip replacement?
Most people consider a hip replacement when arthritis pain limits walking, sleep, or daily activities, and when treatments such as physical therapy, weight management, medication, and injections no longer help enough. X-rays and an exam help you and your surgeon decide together. There is no single “right” age.
Can I go home the same day after a hip replacement?
